A Different Approach to the Straight Stair Lift
The Handicare 1100 stair lift is designed around an unusually slim aluminum rail and a friction-drive system rather than the conventional geared rack found on most straight stair lifts.
This creates a clean, grease-free rail that’s easy to maintain and helps the lift take up less space on the staircase.
When not in use, the seat, arms and footplate fold away, leaving more of the staircase available for other members of the household.
The 1100 also uses continuous charging, allowing the batteries to charge wherever the chair is parked along the rail rather than requiring it to be left at specific charging points.

A Rail Without the Traditional Gear Rack
Most straight stair lifts use a geared rack running along the rail. The Handicare 1100 takes a different approach.
Its patented Multi-Drive system uses four friction-drive motors to move the lift along a smooth aluminum rail without the conventional exposed gear rack.
For the homeowner, the biggest practical advantage is simple: there’s no grease on the rail. That means less chance of lubricant collecting dust, pet hair or accidentally getting onto clothing.
Handicare also incorporates brushes into the carriage that help remove dust and debris from the rail as the lift travels.

Powered Footplate

Slide Track
