★★★★★ Google review
My family and I obtained three separate bids for a motorized stairlift chair. We decided to purchase the Aviator Stairlift from Florida Home Access, and we wanted it installed immediately in February 2026. We found Florida Home Access to not only be the least expensive bid for the project, but the owner of the company personally came to my home to provide us all the information and involved expenditures. Since I was anxious to have the stairlift chair installed immediately, the owner personally did the installation himself in order to meet my desired deadline. My life has improved 100 percent.

IS THIS THE RIGHT FIT?
Is This Stair Lift Right for You?
Every staircase and every customer is different. These guidelines can help explain where this model works particularly well and when another stair lift may be a better choice.
A GOOD CHOICE IF…
You want a dependable straight stair lift at an excellent price
You value a comfortable, smooth and quiet ride
You need a generous seat or higher weight capacity
You want useful standard features included without needing to add lots of options
ANOTHER OPTION MAY SUIT YOU BETTER IF…
You have difficulty bending your knees much beyond 90°
Another seating arrangement may provide a more comfortable riding position. The Atlas 500’s larger footplate or the Handicare 1000’s perch seat may benefit you.
You want the slimmest possible folded stair lift
The Atlas 500 may be worth considering
You want the most contemporary or minimalist design
Models such as the Handicare 1100 offer a more contemporary appearance and different rail designs.
You want additional powered convenience features
The Handicare 1100 offers options such as a powered footplate as well as powered swivel, and may be worth considering if powered operation is particularly important.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions About This Stair Lift
Here are answers to some of the questions customers commonly ask when considering this stair lift.
Is the Pilot Aviator a reliable stair lift?
Yes. In our experience installing and servicing the Pilot Aviator, it has proven to be a dependable and well-built stair lift. It offers a smooth, quiet ride and includes a diagnostic display that can also help identify issues should they occur.
How much space does the Aviator take up?
The Aviator is relatively compact and can work well on many narrower staircases. When folded, the lift projects approximately 13 inches from the wall, and the rail is typically less than 8 inches from the wall. The exact space required depends on your staircase and installation position, which we check during your free home survey.
What happens if the power goes out?
The Pilot Aviator is battery operated, so it can continue to operate for 10 to 15 trips up and down during a power outage, provided the batteries are adequately charged. Under normal conditions, the batteries recharge automatically whenever the lift is parked at a charging point. In the event of an extended power outage, the lift’s sleep mode will help prevent the batteries from draining for up to 20 days.
Can the Pilot Aviator have a folding rail?
Yes. An automatic folding hinge is available where the bottom of the rail would otherwise obstruct a doorway or walkway. The hinge raises and lowers automatically as the stair lift travels, so there is no need to manually fold the rail.
Is the Pilot Aviator suitable for narrow stairs?
It can be an excellent choice for many narrower staircases because the swivel seat only requires 24 inches of space. However, staircase width is only part of the equation. We also consider the user’s seated position, knee clearance and ability to safely get on and off the lift.
How does the Pilot Aviator compare with the Atlas 500?
Both are dependable straight stair lifts, but there are some useful differences. The Aviator offers excellent value, a generous seat and a 350 lb weight capacity. The Atlas 500 folds slightly more compactly and its seat swivels farther at the upper landing. If a folding hinge is required, the Atlas 500 can also charge while parked on the hinged section. We can recommend the better fit after assessing your staircase and individual requirements.
What warranty comes with the Pilot Aviator?
The Pilot Aviator includes a 2-year manufacturer warranty on components and a 5-year warranty on the motor and gearbox. Florida Home Access also provides 2 years of call-out and labor coverage, giving you local support should a covered issue arise.
